“As we move towards a more homogenous society, where people feel comfortable with their home, there is more of a demand for a custom home,” Taylor said of the rise in the demand for custom houses.

While custom houses are a relatively small part of the market, they have become very popular with Australians in recent decades.

In 2011, there were around 30,000 custom homes built, according the Australian Property Association.

In 2018, the number was up to 41,000, while in 2020 the number rose to 55,000.

“There are many homes in Perth, and people are coming into the market and they are very excited about their houses,” Taylor told AM on Thursday.

“They’re just very excited because they want to make sure they’re the best deal possible for their family.”
